This Idaho State class is designed meet NFPA1670

Awareness and Operations level. It is structured with firefighter safety in mind. In this class students will be exposed  to new vehicle construction and design. They will gain an understanding of vehicle Safety Restraint Systems and alternative fuel technology. We will  discuss tool safety and usage. Students will learn to read the vehicle to determine mechanism of  injury. Students will be shown the “Crash Recovery System,” a computer program that gives the IC safety messages and cut-a-way views of vehicles. Each student  will participate in cribbing of vehicles on their wheels, tops, and sides and on concrete barriers. Students will participate in a  basic door pull, dash push and top removal.

Prerequisite: Proof of Worker’s Comp coverage

 

Required equipment: Hard hat, ANSI Safety Glasses or Shield, Gloves and steel toed boots. Long sleeve shirts and protective pants or jump suit.

 

Note: Students can be EMS only to attend this class.

The North Idaho Fire Chief’s Association understands that there are circumstances that are beyond our control and at times plans must be changed because of medical issues and or personal family matters.  If for some reason you cannot attend the course that you have registered for, you shall submit in written form the reason that you will not be able to attend the course, have your department chief or training officer sign the letter and submit this to the North Idaho Chiefs Association a.s.a.p.   The North Idaho Chief’s Association shall review each letter and make the determination to refund the registration fee or not.
